J-Stars Victory VS - Anime Lovers' All Star Game

When a game is made to commemorate something, you expect it to be great. Great is an understatement for J-Stars Victory VS to be released for PlayStation 3 and PS Vita. Anime fans all over the world are waiting patiently for this game as it pits all their favorite characters into one bad-ass fighting game.

J-Stars Victory Vs features characters and settings from Dragon Ball, One Piece, Toriko, Naruto, Rurouni Kenshin, Bleach, Gintama, Kochira Katsushika-ku Kameari Kōen-mae Hashutsujo, Hunter × Hunter and YuYu Hakusho.

Here's a summary of the basic gameplay notes :
Basic attack: the main part of battle. Combos begin with basic attacks.
Power attack: powerful when it hits. There is a skill that lets you gather power.
Range attack: lets you attack enemies over a wide area.
Basic battles are two-versus-two. Two characters on one team—one character is the player, the other character is the computer.
Players will battle two-versus-one if one teammate is knocked out, but the downed fighter will be revived in due time.
Depending on your team, the battle situation will change (such as for sky action, etcetera). Each character’s field of expertise varies.
You’ll win the battle when you manage to fill the WIN Gauge three times, which fills each time you knock out an opponent.

J-Stars Victory Vs lets up to four players battle it out against one another in a gameplay and graphical style similar to those of Dragon Ball: Zenkai Battle Royale. Fighters can move and fight in all directions of a 3D battle field. Players should learn the lay of the land and formulate a battle plan with a character suited to it.

A defeated character comes back after a set amount of time passes. To win the battle, all three sections of the WIN gauge at the top of the screen have to be filled; the gauge fills one section each time an opponent is defeated. Fighters can use regular attacks, power attacks, area-based attacks, and finishing moves. Regular attacks are the main part of the battle, and all combos begin with them. Power attacks leave the user open, but they have a big impact if they connect and their power can be increased by charging them up. Area-based attacks allow to hit opponents over a wide area. By using different techniques, the player can lead his team to victory; learning each character's different power, range, and effects is the first step towards being unbeatable.

Bandaigames also had a promotion for J-Stars Victory VS wherein you can vote for the characters that you would like to see in the game. The characters with the most number of votes will be included into the list of playable characters. Voting was through Jump Weekly's included postcard which you have to send back to them with the 3 characters you wanted to be included in the game. People from all over sent these postcards back so they can see their favorite characters in the game. There was no news about an online voting option.

The Jump brand is no stranger to video game crossovers, kicking things off back in 1989 on the Nintendo Famicom with Famicom Jump: Hero Retsuden and again in 1991 with Famicom Jump II: Saikyō no Shichinin, both of which featured Dragon Ball. The crossover world expanded with Jump Super Stars in 2004 and Jump Ultimate Stars in 2006 on the Nintendo DS, as well as Battle Stadium D.O.N. (combining just the three series Dragon Ball Z, One Piece, and Naruto) on the PlayStation 2 and Gamecube also in 2006.

Anime Fans like me are waiting for the release of the game as well as the final list of characters. Hopefully they will release the list soon and the game when it is perfect.
